Austria's second biggest city
Graz is not only the second biggest city in Austria by inhabitants, it's also the second biggest university city in Austria.
The university called "Karl-Franzens-Universität (Carola-Franciscea)" in the district of Geidorf was founded in 1585 and is behind the University of Vienna the second oldest university in Austria. The university has 21.000 students.
About 9.000 students study in the Technical University (Technische Universität Erzherzog-Johann) and 6.000 the Medical University (Leopold-Auenbrugger-Universität).
Two further universities, the University of Music, and the University of Art, makes the number of six different universities in Graz complete.
