The Karmeliterplatz is a square in the centre of Graz, directly next to the Stadtpark.

The monument for the remembering of the pestilence on the Karmeliterplatz was created in the year 1680.

The original place for the monument was the Hauptplatz, but in 1875 the monument had to be removed from the Hauptplatz to the Karmeliterplatz because of traffic reasons.

The Karmeliterplatz has its name from the monastery of the Karmeliter. The Karmeliter monastery was founded in 1628 on that place.
